Services/Measurement and reporting

{Measurement and reporting}

One monthly report covering search, AI visibility, and coverage — written so it makes sense without a marketing background.

Below is exactly what we track and where each number comes from.

Why it matters

There is no single number to read.

This work leaves evidence in several places at once: what buyers search for, what assistants cite, and what publications say about you. Read together, those signals show you what is working and why. Read one at a time, they mislead.

So we triangulate. Several signals read together, with the movement explained rather than presented. A number without a reason attached is not a report, it is a screenshot.

What we see go wrong

What we see go wrong.

  • The report is a data dumpFifteen pages of exported charts that nobody opens past the first one, delivered because volume looks like diligence.
  • Vanity metrics stand in for resultsImpressions, reach, and follower counts presented as results. These are directional signals worth watching, but they only mean something read against the rest of the picture.
  • Nothing explains why a number movedTraffic is down eleven percent and the report only says traffic is down eleven percent. The useful part — whether it was an algorithm update, a seasonal dip, or a page that broke — is missing.
  • Nobody asks the sales teamThe clearest signal in the whole program is what incoming leads say about how they found you. That only surfaces when sales is actively brought into the process and encouraged to ask.

What we do

Exactly what we measure.

Five inputs, reported monthly, with a deeper analysis every quarter.

01 — Search performance

Search performance

From Google Search Console: impressions, clicks, and average position, grouped by topic cluster and by page rather than by individual keyword, including impressions from Google's AI surfaces. From your analytics platform: sessions, entry pages, and conversions. We report the trend and the reason behind it.

02 — AI visibility

AI visibility

The same prompt set re-run every month across the major assistants. Whether you were cited, what was said, which competitors were named instead, and what changed since last month. This is newer ground than search, and we are direct about where the tooling is still imprecise.

03 — Earned media

Earned media

Every placement logged with the publication, the executive quoted, and referral traffic where it is trackable. Where it is not trackable, we say so rather than modeling a number.

04 — Page-level movement

Page-level movement

Which pages gained and which lost, month over month, so movement can be traced to specific URLs rather than buried in a site-wide average.

05 — What we need from you

What we need from you

Access to your analytics platform and Search Console. If you can share it, inbound inquiry volume and any “how did you hear about us” responses from your forms make the picture considerably sharper — they let us track improvement against the metric that actually matters: inbound leads.
